Frequently asked questions

Q: Do You Refill Prescriptions for Narcotic Pain Relievers, Tranquilizers or Sleeping Tablets?

A: Yes, however, due to the widespread abuse of Federal Drug Administration controlled substances, Baton Rouge Oral & Facial Surgery can no longer refill prescriptions for narcotic pain relievers, tranquilizers, and sleeping tablets after 4:00 p.m. on weekdays and between the hours of 4:00 p.m. on Friday and 9:00 a.m. on Monday.

Under no circumstances will any pain medication prescriptions be given or refilled on Saturdays or Sundays, nor after business hours during weekdays. Anyone receiving prescription pain medication must be a current patient of record at Baton Rouge Oral & Facial Surgery. Refills can only be given Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Physician’s discretion.

We sincerely regret the inconvenience to our patients with legitimate requests for medications of any kind; however, current conditions require such measures to prevent drug abuse.

Please do not take any pain medication on an empty stomach as nausea will occur. Do not take any medication if you know you are allergic, or have been instructed by your doctor not to take it.
